New Aston Martin Virage to hit US Dealers Summer 2011

Aston Martin dealers were sent top secret information on the new "Virage" and told to keep it quite before its public announcement February 23rd, 2011 (today). What a difficult task that was as this is an incredible new addition to the Aston Martin model line up. The new Virage will debue for the first time at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show next week and is expected to make some big waves. Aston Martin Dealers will begin taking orders just after the auto show with an expected customer delivery this summer. Allocations will be limited and Aston Martin dealers expect to be sold out quickly.

Some of you may remember the previous Aston Martin V8 Virage based on the Lagonda chassis with the perfectly squared off edges, aggressive exhaust and impressive horsepower for a car of its time. The new Virage's predecessor was replaced by the V12 Vanquish in 2000 after it hit its production target of 1050 cars.
The new V12 Virage is being brought back to compete in the GT market nessled comfortably between the DB9, Rapide and DBS with a base price of $210,000 USD. The Virage will feature a 6.0lt V12 engine boasting 490bhp and 420lbs of torque with 85% available at 1500rpm, Touchtronic II Paddle Shiftable Automatic, Carbon Ceramic Brakes, all new Satellite Navigation produced by Garmin, 20" Diamond turned wheels, Bi-Xenon headlamps and much more bring the Aston Martin brand to an all new level. While we may all agree there are plenty of exotics in the GT range offering higher performance, what Aston Martin does best is its ability to draw lines so beautifully it takes your breath away without being garish. Aston Martin summarized it perfectly, "Elegant, opulent, exclusive and seductively understated the Virage is a magnificent addition to the Aston Martin range." Stay tuned as more pictures, videos and details unfold over the next few weeks on the impressivenew Virage.
